NHAL Elementary School Art Classes
Members of the New Hartford Art League are planning after-school art enrichment classes for the Kindergarten through Grade 2 children at the New Hartford Elementary School in Pine Meadow.

Ann Raymond, Collette Hurst and Bonnie Boyle met on September 14 to plan a series of three lessons for the months of October through December. Each class will include a short demonstration or discussion of personal artwork by a League member followed by an art activity for the children related to the member’s presentation.

Click here for pictures from the first class, with Lucille Delaney and Bonnie Boyle. Click here for pictures from the third class, with Bonnie Boyle and Karen Meares.

NHEWe have had a positive response to these classes, and are looking for members who are willing to talk about their artwork or demonstrate the application of an art medium. Simple concepts such as the way you use color, or the subject you enjoy painting/drawing/sculpting would be appropriate to share with these young children. We will build an hour-long lesson from your short talk.

This project will fulfill one of the goals of the Art League, which is to provide opportunities for children to learn about art and to help them experience the joy of creative art activities.
